Ijesha Youth Forum National President Extends Warm Felicitations to Ijesa Indigenes on the Occasion of the 2023 Iwude Ijesa Festival
The Ijesha Youth Forum (IYF) President, Engr. Olufemi Michael Oluwatoba, has extended his heartfelt congratulations and warm felicitations to all Ijesa indigenes, both at home and in diaspora, on the auspicious occasion of the 2023 Iwude Ijesa Festival.
According to the number one youth in Ijesa Land, 'the Iwude-Ijesa Festival, is one of the most revered cultural events in Osun State which holds great significance for the Ijesa people as it celebrates her rich heritage, traditions, and customs of the land.'
The president noted that the festival has always been a grand celebration of Ijesa culture, bringing together Ijesa indigenes from various parts of the world to showcase the beauty and diversity of their cultural heritage.
In his message, Engr. Olufemi Michael Oluwatoba expressed his deep admiration for the Ijesa people and their unwavering commitment to preserving the cultural identity, just as he emphasized the importance of the Iwude Ijesa Festival as a unifying force, fostering a sense of pride and unity among Ijesa indigenes across the globe.
"The Iwude Ijesa Festival serves as a reminder of our shared history, values, and traditions. It is a time for us to come together and celebrate our cultural heritage with joy and reverence," He said.
"I want to extend my warmest greetings and felicitations to all Ijesa indigenes, whether you are here with us in Ijesaland or residing in different parts of the world. May this festival bring immense happiness, prosperity, and renewed strength to our beloved community." The president added.
The IYF National President commended efforts of Kabiyesi, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Dr. Gabriel Adekunle Aromolaran (CFR, LLD) in promoting and preserving the rich cultural heritage of Ijesa land. While acknowledging the significant roles played by the paramount ruler of Ijesa land, cultural organizations, and community leaders in organizing the festival and ensuring its success year after year.
The Ijesa Youth Forum president however charged the youth to embrace and learn from the wisdom of elders, recognizing that it is through the preservation and promotion of cultural heritage that the Ijesa people will continue to thrive and make significant contributions to the global community.
